The Open Air Museum (in danish: Frilandsmuseet) is one of the oldest and largest open air museums in the world. It contains over 50 farms, houses, smallholdings and mills from the period 1650-1940. It also features gardens, landscapes and old Danish breeds of livestock.
Just like the Open Air Museum in Århus, they have been collecting houses, farms, mills and all sorts of small houldings from all over Denmark. Also the parts of old Denmark that is todays Northern-Germany and Skåne, Sweden. The farms and open areas are full of living animals like horses, goats, sheeps and ducks. Making the history more life-like.
