The 12 steps to live more green
Sort your waste. How wonderful wouldn’t it be if we all started sorting our waste. It’s easy to do, helps the environment and hello “recycle” anyone?
Buy second-hand. Why most everything we buy be new? Buying second-hand or vintage helps old, but still beautiful clothes come back to life.
Support organic food. Organic food might be a bit more expensive, but there is a reason for that. Help support farmers that will not use GMOs or any other dangerous chemicals.
Animal welfare. Anyone who knows me, knows this is my biggest passion. I want to end testing on animals, and in the meantime, I’ll just support the brands that are not conducting any testing in the animals.
Make your own products. It’s cheaper, easy and fun. You also have a total controll of what you use in your products.
Support a charity! Find a charitable organization you’d like to support. You don’t have to give thousands of dollars every year (it would be great), but give as much as you like and can afford.
Be a conscious consumer. Knowledge is power, be aware which organisation is the “good guys” and who that are “bad”.
Learn to read ingredients. Many of the names a confusing, but once you get the hang of it, boy it’ll be fun.
Don’t buy anything with palm oil. The rainforest and palm oil have been a main focus to many lately. To abuse animals and nature like this should not be okay, in any way.
Pick up garbage. Don’t throw garbage on the street, use the garbage disposal. If you see waste on the street, in the forest, actually anywhere…Pick it up. Help the environment step by step.
Support Green businesses. Why not show the love to the businesses that tries to be more green themselves?
Meat free Mondays. Paul McCartney started this campaign in 2009, and I love this idea. Not everyone wants to stop eating meat, and that fine, but why not have a meat free Monday? Once a week you should be able to live without any animals. Reasons to support this: People are eating to much meat, less animals will suffer, and livestock makes 18% of all greenhouse gas emissions (global).
Are there anything else you think we could do?
