DIY Bath Bombs -A great way to treat yourself
This DIY Bath Bombs is so easy and amazing to use. And don’t be scared, it’s not difficult to make.
We moved to a bigger apartment this summer, and guess what? Now I got a bathtub. Usually I don’t use it as much, but every once and awhile there is nothing like a relaxing warm bath.
My first experience with bath bombs were the ones you get from Lush. These are not very cheap, but they are absolutely fabulous. But now I wanted to make my own.
Here is a simple recipe for how to make your own bath bombs.
Ingredients
These are measured as american cups, not british.
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup sea salt
3/4 cup cornstarch
2 tablespoons oil of choice
2 teaspoons witch hazel (or water)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
30-40 drops of Essential oils or powdered dried herbs
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients and mix them all together.
In a another bowl, mix the oil, witch hazel and vanilla extract and stir well. Add essential oils if you’re using.
Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients a few drops at a time. Mix well with hands (wear gloves if needed).
Mixture should hold together when squeezed without crumbling. It’s recommended to use a spray bottle with additional liquid to evenly add.
Quickly push mixture in the molds, greased muffin tins or any other greased container. Press in firmly and leave at least 24 hours (48 is even better).
You can push it down into the mold several times while it is drying to keep it from expanding to much.
When dry, remove and store in air tight container or bag. Use within 14 days.
